It's Carnival!
Join us as we have establishing shots of Rio, some Wild On clips from E! Network, and then some close ups of sex on a beach (that we assume is in southern California).

Welcome to Valentine's Day week and Carnival!  Plus Zack is on Vacation.We had an idea, we are going to try to do as many episodes of Red Shoe Diaries from the early 90's as we possibly can this week.  They are going to be rough edits, but we are going to go until we drop.Come back with us to the early 90s as (a now famous) David Duchovny and Stella the Dog introduce us to a middle aged Jewish man, his eccentric sculptor wife, and his daughter think is the voice of female desire.  In this episode the bad guy from D2 The Mighty Ducks and the girl from the Dolph Lungren flick Men of War meet up every New Years for a wild night.  How can this possibly end well?

Forbidden Cinema 111 - Caddyshack Going Deeper

Welcome back!  The forbidden crew look into the questions that were best left unanswered from our coverage of Caddyshack.  We are back in 1980, people.  We find newspapers from the week this film came out (the week Zack was born) and see what is going on in the world... spoiler alert... the world sucks in 1980.
We pause and take a look at the career of Harold Ramis, a man with 4 films on AFI's top 100 funnies.  We also spend a little time looking at Brian Doyle, a strong contender for our 2nd favorite Murray brother.
We hit it all.  Who is Sarah Holcomb and where did she go?  Was our hometown pizza place with local or a chain?  What is the deal with Fresca?  How was this, Blues Brothers, and Airplane in the theater at the same time?
We take a brief Forbidden Cinema True Crime Corner interlude to look at the case of Helen Mintiks, the young violin prodigy at the MET who disappeared in the middle of a show.
Zack also makes Jenny guess which type of ad was most heavily featured in Playboy magazine this month.  Will it be tobacco, alcohol, or gadgets?  Also Dudley Moore is featured in one of the photoshoots this month???

Forbidden Cinema 110 - Caddyshack

Ok, we are in the 80s here, but just barely...
We watched the movie that came out when Zack was 6 days old, Caddyshack.  There are old white guys going to 11 at every moment.  Chevy Chase is a creepy golf guru.  RIP Cindy Morgan who plays the siren of the piece.  I'm pretty sure Sarah Holcomb isn't Irish.  Did we mention Rodney Dangerfield is in the movie and is hilarious he dose scare one of our cats, though.
We watched the Kenny Loggins, gopher dancing, Bill Murray mumbling masterpiece that is Caddyshack and are now better for it.  Come along with us to all of the politically incorrect 1980 glory.

Forbidden Cinema 109 - Eyes Wide Shut - Going Deeper

Join us as we answer the questions nobody thought to ask about Eyes Wide Shut.  We look at the original novel and how close it is to the film.  We find out that this has not been the first time this has been adapted and look into the films of Mario Bianci who directed such classics as The Erotic Adventures of Zorro.
We talk about the Guinness world record grueling shoot for no apparent reason, and look a little into what is known about this time in Tom and Nicole's lives.
Jenny continues her insistence that her hot take on the Tri Corner Hat Guy is accurate and she brings evidence to back it up.  Look out, true crime podcasters, she is coming for you.
We finish looking through Playboy in July of 1999.  There are some naked ladies, but we spend the most amount of time on an advertisement for a sweepstakes from Basic Cigarrettes.

Forbidden Cinema 108 - Eyes Wide Shut

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals, and a happy new year.
We watched the final film of a master film maker, Eyes Wide Shut.  Where do we even start.  This thing took years to shoot.  The tabloids went crazy about the sex and relationships of the stars.  One of the best directors of all time stayed up all night talking to Zalman King to get the vibe just right for a weird dreamlike orgy.  Did we mention Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are in this thing.
Welcome to the 2 hour 40 minute masterpiece? of Eyes Wide Shut.  Come along with us.  This misunderstood piece of film history gets digested and probably even more misunderstood by us.  We stay in our "barely legal" timeline of films that came out just as we were actually able to start seeing them for this one and hit up one of the Forbidden Cinema classics.
